1 April 20 UPDATE: “In acknowledgement of the pressures of Covid-19 being felt throughout the community, ORC’s Chief Executive Sarah Gardner has extended the submission period for the Water Permits Plan Change to the 4 May, 2020.

This week we, as your Regional Councillors, voted on whether to request that our Water Permits Plan Change and Water Quality Plan Change (formerly known as “Omnibus”) be called in by the Minister for the Environment.
ORC to request Ministerial ‘call-in’ of upcoming plan changes

The Otago Regional Council (ORC) voted today to request that Minister for the Environment Hon. David Parker exercise his authority to ‘call in’ upcoming proposed plan changes to the Regional Plan for Otago: Water and Regional Plan for Otago: Waste and refer them either directly to the Environment Court or to a Board of Inquiry.
