⛔❗Albany Street half-closure - 27/01 UPDATE ❗⛔////

27/01/2023 - UPDATE

Albany Street is now closed between Clyde and Forth Street intersection, open for one-way traffic from Forth Street only. Forth Street terminus is closed until further notice.

- Route 14 and 63 in both directions will return to their original routes from today as Albany is open for Two-way traffic from the Clyde St intersection.

- Route 15 Northbound service will terminate at the 61 Clyde Street stop travelling Harbour Tce to Anzac Ave/Frederick St/Clyde St.

- Route 15 Southbound service will start from the 61 Clyde Street stop and continue as per the original route via Harbour Tce.

- Route 37 to University service will terminate at the 61 Clyde Street stop.

- Route 38 to Concord service will start from the 61 Clyde Street stop make a look via Union St/Harbour Tce/Dundas St, back onto Clyde St and will continue as per the original route.

Albany St is currently one-way between Clyde and Cumberland St.


Routes 14, 38, and 63 heading to town will divert along Harbour Terrace, Dundas St, and Cumberland St. Routes 14 and 63 will use Forth St instead of the usual Clyde St, and route 15 (Ridge Runner) will take a different route to its Forth St terminus, missing Clyde St.

The bus stop at Albany St, Clubs and Socs, will be closed; there will be a temporary stop on Gowland St that can be used.

The two stops on Clyde St will be closed. Customers travelling on route 14 towards Port Chalmers, or route 63 to Logan Park, can use the stop on the Forth St bridge Customers travelling to town can use the stop on the Forth St bridge. for route 38, or Harbour Terrace for routes 14 and 63.

The contractor will put up signage at the above stops.

**Delays to Mosgiel route 77 services**

🚌Taieri Road Works🚌

From the 22nd of January until the 31st of January, road works will be happening on Taieri Road between Berwick St and Wakari Hospital from 7 pm to 6 am. This road work will affect four bus stops, with two stop closures at a time.

- Stops closed (Taieri Rd 278 and Taieri Rd 269), Alternative Stops (Taieri Rd 240 and Taieri Rd 251).
- Stops closed (Taieri Rd 302 and Taieri Rd 319), Alternative Stops (Taieri Rd 366 and Taieri Rd 321).

⛔Morris Road detour - until 26th Feb⛔

From 16th Jan until the 26th Feb, Morris Road will be closed due to some Milling and Filling work. The bus will detour from Main Rd to Motorway to Braeside to Dee St and back onto Morris Rd. The bus travelling towards town will follow a similar detour.

Stops affected:

  • Quarry Rd, 111 (please use stop across road  at Quarry Road, 108 for services in both directions).
  • Morris Rd, 97 (closed, please use Quarry Road, 108)
  • Morris Rd, Cnr Chain Hills Rd (closed)
  • Morris Rd, Cnr Coach Rd (shifted onto Main Rd Fairfield).
  • Main Rd Fairfield, Cnr Morris Rd (shifted away from intersection)

🚧Hanover St / Great King intersection Routes 50 and 63 diverting until Feb 6🚧

Until Monday 6 February, the intersection of Hanover St and Great King St will be closed. As such, buses on routes 50 and 63 will be unable to serve the stops at the Hospital, and will divert along George St (route 50) and along St Andrew St the one-ways (route 63). Existing stops on this diversion will be served.

✅Hospital South Stop Closure✅

UPDATE - 22/12

As works close up for the holiday break, Great King St is now open for buses passing the hospital. The temporary stop at 95 Hanover St (Henry's) has been removed.

Work will resume in the New Year.

Unfortunately, this detour will need to be extended to allow for further work until next year, March 2023, to be completed at the Frederick/Great King St intersection. While general traffic can pass through here, it is not a safe passage for our buses.

The detour will remain in place

We will update communications as expected if the work is completed ahead of this date.

UPDATE - 12/08

Unfortunately this detour will need to be extended for an additional two weeks to allow for further work to be completed at the Frederick/Great King St intersection. While general traffic can pass through here, it is not safe passage for our buses.

The detour will remain in place until at least Sunday 28th August.

If the work is completed ahead of this date, we will update communications as normal.

Due to work required at the intersection of Great King St and Frederick St, buses will not be able to travel south along Great King St for next week.

From Monday 8th August, for approximately one week, the Hospital South stop will be closed.

The following detours will be in place:

Route 50 - will detour via George St in both directions. 

There will be a temporary stop setup around 332 - 334 George St.

Route 63 - will detour via the one-way south and Hanover St, before turning onto Great King St.

There will be a temporary stop setup outside 95 Hanover St (Henry's).

The services will keep their existing detours for Logan Park and Helensburgh bound services, as Great King St northbound lane remains closed.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause, and ask passengers who use the service to access the Hospital South stop to be aware of this upcoming closure and share with their network.

-Northbound buses are travelling through Knox Block now, but the stop is closed.
-Southbound buses will follow the new detour as Albany Street is closed now.
-The buses will detour from George Street turning left onto St David Street and right onto Cumberland Street (One-way SH1) and then turning right towards Frederick Street and back onto George Street.
-Northbound stop closures: George St 459 (Knox Block stop) will not be served. Please use temporary stop at George St, 509 or temporary stop at George St, 317.
-Southbound stop closures: George St 664, George St 590, George St 504, George St 472 will not be served. Please use temporary stops at St David St (outside Alcala Motel), Gowland St, 20, or 358 George St.

With work winding down for the holiday break, buses are now using Knox block in the northbound direction. Northbound services on routes 3, 6, 8, and 11 have no diversion. Southbound services will continue their diversion.

From Monday 14th, George St (Knox Block) will be closed in both directions. Northbound services will divert from George St, along Frederick St, along one-way SH1 to Albany St, and back to George St., The Southbound bus will continue on its diversion, as below.

- Routes affected: 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 11

- The existing bus stop on northbound SH1 (Malcolm St, Cnr Frederick St) will be served.

Due to heavy traffic on Frederick St and buses are getting delayed. The bus will detour from George St to Albany St to One-way SH1 to Hanover St and back onto George St now.

- Additional Temp Stop: 95 Hanover St/Outside Henry"s Liquor Store.

From the 25th of October until the 23rd of December, George St(Knox Block) between Frederick St & Albany St will be closed for southbound traffic (One-way). The northbound bus will continue as per the usual route, and the Southbound bus will detour from George St to Albany St to One-way SH1 to Frederick St and back onto George St.

- Route affected: 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 11.

- Stop affected: George St 459 and George St 472.

- Temp Stop location: George St 384(Southbound) and George St 509(Northbound)

A number of drivers have fallen ill with Covid-19 in recent weeks. To help protect drivers from exposure going forward, we have received requests to close off the seats immediately behind the front door, and we will be going forward with this. Operators will be implementing this in the next day or two.
 
Although it is not mandatory, customers are encouraged to wear masks while riding the bus.

🚧🟡 Retail Quarter Update🟡🚧

Great King St northbound closure between St Andrew St & Frederick St

From Tuesday 28th June, Great King St (between St Andrew St and Frederick St) will be closed to northbound traffic. This is to enable the next phase of the enabling works for the Retail Quarter upgrades.

Previously the closure was from Hanover St to Frederick, but now the closure extends further toward the bus hub.

Routes 50 (toward Helensburgh) and 63 (toward Logan Park) are affected by this work.

  • Route 50 will remain detoured via St Andrew St/George St – with a temporary stop setup at 314 George St.
  • Route 63 will now be detoured via St Andrew St and the one-way north. There are no temporary stops in place for this route. Passengers wanting to access the hospital should make use of the stop at Malcom St, corner of Frederick st.
  • The stop at Hospital North will be out of service.

Southbound traffic and Hospital South stop are unaffected by this work.

This detour will be in place for the next few months while enabling work is completed along Great King St.
