What is the ECO Fund?

The ECO Fund supports community-led projects that protect, enhance or promote Otago's environment.

Otago Regional Council contributes $290,000 every year to the ECO Fund, and for the 2022 year there is additional funding available to support collaborative community rabbit management projects, planting for water quality outcomes and native planting after wilding pine removal, taking the total to $470,000 for the 2022 round.

The ECO Fund supports not only on-ground works and education or awareness raising projects, but also administrative support. Whether your project is large or small, we welcome your application.

Please review the Eligibility Checklist to see if your project is eligible.
